I put all the pieces together and i know who did it...and my friend messaged them saying if they don't delete it that we're are going to tell everyone who is doing it.....the thing is I know for sure its this girl but how can I prove that to other people.is there any evidence to find out on the computer like links that match or something....anybody have a clue please help....
I have tried reporting it many times and the profile has been up for a couple of months now..facebook really doesn't do anything about it=/

go to the left side of their page and click report. it will take u to a few links and one of them asks if that person is trying to be u. they will take care of it.

There's not much you can do. You can try contacting the Facebook developers about this sort of thing, but I don't think it's very effective. As for now, just ignore that person and say it isn't you. If she's being really offensive, then report her.

I think that would fall under internet fraud, but I'm not sure. If it does, then it becomes a police matter. I'm sure there is a law of some kind about assuming another person's identity as their own. That would make it a police matter. Facebook has the IP address the account was set up from on record, I'm sure. Probably have a list of every IP that has been used by that identity. The police would have no trouble finding it, if they so desired to look. If there is not enough evidence for police action, then a lawyer could help too, but that could get very costly!

I looked it up. This is the address you need to get started. They have dealt with this situation a few times before, obviously...

This is where to find out how to report a person claiming to be YOU.

That is the trouble with Fb technology. It takes one jealous twisted mind and you become a culprit? If people really know you they may understand it is the workings of someone else, your job is to convince them or walk away. One reason why I deactivated my Fb page. Faceless "friends" are not worth the effort. At least most of the people I had on Fb I knew In Real Life, words can be misconstrued, unlike body language and talking face to face conversations. Will Fb take responsibility ? I doubt it. the damage is already done, and some one is having a laugh at your expense. You can try an clone a Fb page but there will be subtle differences that you will notice, otherwise won't accept an exact copy? Same with yahoo ID's that try to be cloned. I sympathise with you but if you walk away and deactivate the site, without letting on to the person behind it, she may go on her merry way making a fool out of herself. your real friends will know the difference in the long run? You just have to be one step ahead all the time. Good Luck

I'd suggest having many people from different computers report it, like all of your friends.

If facebook isn't doing anything yet, ask all your friends to report this person. The more reports they get, the more likely they are to do something about it.
