why wont google chrome let me get a theme?

why wont google chrome let me get a theme?
i had google chrome and i downloaded a theme and it worked and it changed. then i had to uninstall it and re install it and so i went to get my theme back now i click chose theme and it says checking and then doesnt change. is there something i can do
