Should social media be used in schools?
Should social media be used in schools? Why or why not? How can one side (your opinion) overpower the other? I need more ideas for my upcoming debate. I'd be glad if anyone answered. Thanks!

I may not be the best one to answer - but NO. Which side will you be debating?

School is for learning the basics in many areas. Science, English, Math, History, etc. are all areas a person needs to know so you can learn and grow. Social media will only give many different opinions on these topics and not lend any background or knowledge. Once you know the basics then college can increase your knowledge.

Social media is just that - SOCIAL. It is fine if you want to share your opinions with fellow classmates and other groups but not in the school.

The old saying of 'if you do not learn from history then you are likely to repeat it' is so true. Keep knowledge where it belongs and learn from it - not try and intertwine with opinions.

Social media is for socializing.

School is not for socializing.
School is for getting an education. Period.

Countries that know this thrive and prosper:

'Canada remains world's most educated country'
'Canada: Richer than America and more economically powerful than Europe'
'The most prosperous nation in the Americas, Canada ranks first in personal freedom'
'Canadians getting richer, average net worth tops $400,000'
'Canada first and only G7 country to recover all jobs lost during recession'
'Canada to lead G7 nations in average growth for next 50 years: OECD'
'Canada Trounces U.S. In Best Countries For Business'
'Canada leads North America in economic freedom'
'Canada is best G20 country for females, India worst'
'Best Country For Kids: Canada Best Place In The World To Raise Children'
'Your Kids Will Have A Better Life If You Move To Canada'
'Canada can fairly claim to be the best-governed country in the world'
'While the rest of the world sinks into despair, Canadians have never felt so upbeat about the future'

Countries that forget this fumble & fail:

'Americans enjoy less economic mobility than their peers in Canada'
'The American Dream is alive and well - in Canada'
'Look out, Americans, average Canadian is richer than you are'
'Study: Canadians Live Longer, Healthier Lives Than Yanks'
'Canadians pay less tax per person than Americans'
'Americans are the latest economic refugees, and they're heading to Canada'
'Americans moving to Canada in record numbers: report'

Like the man said:

"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be."
-Thomas Jefferson

Nothing's more ignorant than students wasting time on social media instead of being educated.
