Can I use my ethernet cable away from home?
Going away to my caravan which is about 2 hours away from home, can I use my ethernet cable there to connect my laptop to the internet? I apologise if this is a stupid question!

Thanks,
Jack
Thanks for the answers guys Smile

If there is a router installed, connected to a broadband enabled phone line, yes. If not, no.

I'm not sure what you mean. If you are asking if you can use internet access from where you will be then as long as there is a connection for you there then of course. If your talking about using your home internet at a different location then that's a definite no.

Of course, do you have something to plug it into at your caravan? Otherwise it's just a length of wire... The other possibility to consider, if there's no internet set up there is get a mobile internet connection (it's like the innards of a mobile phone that allows you to connect wirelessly to the internet but there will be a charge). Lastly, many caravan sites have WiFi, and for that you'd need a 'dongle' to find the signal and the site will give you access details.
