playstation 3 internet connection?

i just got a new router that works for all my computers but when i set up the internet connection on my ps3 it wont find the IP address. if anyone can help that would be awesome. Thanks EASY TEN POINTS

Is it a wired router or wireless router? Here is the Sony support page that will help you: http://www.us.playstation.com/support

It will guide you through basic connections, or custom connections. All are step by step, so it is easy to follow. You can even check the "Troubleshoot Internet Connection" page if the set up page isn't any help.
