If i download counter strike source can i play online with just an internet connection?

I was wondering if i can buy and download CSS and play online with a standard internet connection. Also will it run better through a cable or can i play wireless? Thanks

When you download the Counter-Strike Source via Steam, you will be good to go.

Of course the faster your internet connection and computer is, the faster your gameplay will be.

The speed of wireless or cable is the same as long as they use the same router. But if you are connecting to an open public wireless connection, then your internet speed would be low. But for home usage, it doesn't matter.
