Setting up 2 routers?
So I live in a house with 5 other people and numerous devices that can really slow down my internet connection. It is especially frustrating when I try to play ps3 games with my friends and it's lagging or it takes hours to update a game. I was considering buying another wireless router to use exclusively for my ps3. Would that solve the problem of having slow connection while playing? Or would it have no effect since the second router would be feeding off of the same internet connection. I also am not really sure how I would go about setting up the second router.. Networking is not my forte and I would appreciate any guidance.

It might help just a tad but not much at all. Think about your internet as a flow of water. The more people that need the water means the less per person even if you had two wells, the same amount of water is coming out and distributed the same amongst your housemates.

The enemy of online gaming (which is a streaming service) is other streaming services (Netflix, VoIP phone calls, Skype, etc.). Pretty much the only cure is to pay more for a faster/larger bandwidth connection and/or a more business-rated router. Your two router solution wouldn't do you much good since you're still sharing the one ISP connection.
