Buying on ebay, feedback.?
I have just bought an item for my car on ebay,
The seller has given feedback already, but makes the item
Private.i just wondered why, so anybody else can't see what I have bought.
I
Thanks for replies, I was just puzzled, it was something anybody could buy, or bid
As the seller has numerous of same item with buy it now or another of same on bidding,
Just like a lot of products are sold. I have nothing to hide.so I would not have asked for private.
Also lots of feedback on most sellers is a mixture of both anyway.

Sellers do this as a favor to buyers.

Sometimes you don't want everybody to know what you bought. A key reason deals with buying items as gifts. This is also common in adult and healthcare items - but it can apply to any category.

Many people, myself included, have a second private ID for buying just for this reason.

There is a valid reason for making a listing private. It avoids people seeing your bid and contacting you to offer you their similar item. He did not make the "Feedback" private, he made the whole listing private. I would not say it is common practice but it is far from unusual and does not affect you an iota.
