Questions about Facebook?
I had a Facebook years ago but never really used it and ended up just deactivating it. I'm toying with the notion of reactivating it, but I have some questions I'd like to ask frequent Facebook users;

1) Prior to deactivating my FB, a sibling of mine tagged me in a photo of myself she posted (a pic I found to be embarrassing). I was horrified when this pic showed up in the news feed for all to see. Is there a setting to make sure this can never happen again? Can I turn off tagging completely?

2) Does FB aid your social life? I basically have no friends living nearby to hang out with and I'm completely isolated. I'm super shy and have a hard time making friends. Do you get invited to social events frequently through FB? Would having a FB increase my chances of having a social life? This is my main interest in having a FB. If the answer is no, then I would rather not bother.

No. Anyone can tag you. But you can request for a tag to be removed.

And does it aid your social life ? Hmm. It can when used carefully.
Be selective about who you add. Add only real friends or people you actually want to be friends with...and family and schoolmates if you like.

Do not get tempted to inflate your "friend count" - fake friends have no value.

I use FB to stay in touch with friends and family all over the world. Through FB I have found some new relatives in the US I did not know I had Smile

Also, joining groups for things that interest you increases your chances for finding likeminded people. Not all may be interested in new friends, but some might Smile

You Can Not Turn off Tagging Completely However you Can Set it so That you Have to Approve Tags Before Anything Appears On your Profile So you Can Not Approve Something and it Wont Go on your Profile At All

And As Far as Number 2 Goes Yes it Can
