What careers can you get if you don't like networking or marketing?
I saw an article on Yahoo about college degrees being worthless (I have one) and it said "teach your kids to network, and market a product". I see articles like this all the time and I feel intimidated. I have no network, in fact I have no friends and I've always been that way since I was little. Besides, why is it that we blame our politicians for cronyism, yet praise people who get jobs with it?

I also can't market anything because in order to do so, you have to understand consumers. I've never had many luxuries and am pretty anti-materialistic, plus my lack of social interaction means I have few life experiences compared to most people. It's ironic that I studied computer science because I was the stereotypical nerd (minus the insane intelligence), but look around today: Who invented Facebook, Twitter, iPhones, etc.? The same kids who were popular in HS, and probably bullied me, because they know what people like. I don't use them and sooner or later I'll be asked why I don't use Facebook in a job interview (if I can even get to this stage).

What kind of career could I still have, if any?

Boy you don't paint yourself in a very good light. How about something to do with pets or animals. While you may have a little more interaction with people than you are used to, animals love you know matter what you are or aren't and it can be very rewarding to help them due to the fact they are largely dependent on humans.

As far as increasing you spear of friends you might try church; I'm a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in California and we welcome everyone. God loves you regardless of who you are or aren't and as Christians we should too.

Hold your head up a little higher, you mean something to more than you know I'm sure.
