how do i know if he likes me or if i should tell someone and maybe he will find out?

I like this boy at school and he used to like me so I heard. I don't know if he still likes me but I have liked him ever since I first saw him but when I heard he liked me I was only 12 and didn't want a relationship. now that I am almost 16 I want to start texting him but not necessarily go out unless it is a group date. we both hide our feelings about anything really well so I can't really tell if he likes me because he probably wont tell his friends he likes me. I catch him staring at me sometimes but I don't if it is because he is just spacing off and I assume he is looking at me or if he is actually looking at me. I really want to tell someone about him but our school is really small and I am afraid someone might over hear or one of my friends will tell him and if he doesn't like me I will be embarrassed.

Hello becca well I've been through the exact situation hunny, but if you carry on the way your going now, you wount get anywhere! It's like if you want to cross the river, you can't get anywhere without a little push off!

But anyway! What I did, I told my best friend and made her swear not to tell anyone! If you do that your one step closer already, then after like 2 weeks of (as a big group) going out with each other, snapchatting, mailing each other on Facebook, I felt like I could trust him more and that we were closer, this is what I suggest you do! Then, get your best friend (or who ever you told) to maybe text the guy to tell him, maybe something like "hey don't tel anyone but (Y/N) likes you a little bit" somewhere along those lines, and that will give him the courage to maybe admit that he likes you, or start to like you.
I know this because when guys admit to liking me, I either admit that I like them back, and go out with them, OR I start to like them
