How to make my internet NAT type open?

So I live in this shitty student housing place with an okay internet system. Right now my NAT type is strict and every time I play on xbox live it's awful. I was wondering if anyone knows any "secret" tips or some good advice to help me fix this issue?

You want to be careful here!You must remember your IP so write it down somewhere before you do any of this.I haven't tried doing it but judging by comments it works.I have tried something similar to this which made me lose connection because I changed the IP on my PC and I had to write my old IP back.
In case it doesnt work try this,looks like a useful comment on that video:

"FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO THIS MIGHT NOT WORK FOR*** when he enters the ip address on the xbox you cant leave the other two setting blank as "0.0.0.0" to find out what to put in them, go on your computer "windows 8" and search "run" on the homescreen or desktop, in the run box, search "CMD" (which stands for command) after that, in the command prompt, type "ipconfig" and hit enter, then find where it says something about wi-fi, and enter the subnet mask and defult gateway into your xbox and click "done" it should work just fine!! it does for me at least"
