My Ex Upsetting Me?

Me and my ex dated secretly for about 2 weeks, telling everyone about us after maybe another week. Just a few days ago, I broke up with him because he was ignoring me, flirting with other girls, making me seem like a dog chasing its bone.

He simply replied with, "Yeah OK."

We were still friends, and at that point, were back to our usual, abnormal selves. We laughed it off and remained friends for most of the day.

When it was last period, English, I was placed in front of him, because of our seating plan. He called me a mistake, an ugly bitch and a lesbian. As normal, I replied with, rather smartly, "Like your Mum then." Once again, as we are very good friends, I was expecting us to laugh it off like we did earlier.

But no. He meant it.

So he had called me a bitch, slut, mistake, ugly... so many words that when we were good friends, we used to use as a joke with each other.

A few hours ago I asked him why he said it through twitter. He ignored my direct message, so I told my friend, who today was sick, what he had done. She is another one of his exes and she dumped him for the same reason - ignorance.

She spoke to him about my offer being valid. He used me, and therefore he should be, honestly, very lucky I am still willing to be his friend.

So as me, a lover of English, I wrote a very long paragraph. He simply stated; "Wow" and continued ignoring me.

Should I even bother being his friend? We were once amazing friends. I miss that.
What shall I do?

If someone treats you with this much disregard WHY ON EARTH would you consider being their friend? Do you have dire self-esteem issues?

I wouldn't even give him the time of day.
