How to direct google organic clicks to homepage instead of the posts page?
I have often been brought to the homepage of a website from google organic results after putting in a search query only to find that practically none of those keywords exist on the homepage I was brought to?
How do they do this. Or is it google just deciding to bring you there? Thanks. 10 points for a good answer. Ads |

mm... Without an example I am just guessing, but maybe the link you followed had many recommendations (read links) pointing to it for the term you looked for, even if the text of that page did not include such content.

A keyword matched domain name can help the home page, as well as a lot of backlinks with the keyword included in their anchor text. (take care, much over 15% anchor text and and only including a keyword can make those links suspicious.
Some SEO experts concerned with having to shed backlinks if an Onnatural Link Pattern warning is received from Google, are now suggesting not backlinking to the home page where removing backlinks is harder. |
