Boyfriend had photos w/ ex on Facebook but won't post photos with me?

I have been dating my boyfriend for 5 months. We're both 22. Things have been great, we talk and spend time together as much as we can and we always have fun together. The only thing that bothers me is he won't post pictures of us on Facebook or Instagram. When I first met him he had a 3 or 4 pictures of him and his ex on Facebook(which he has since deleted). So I don't understand why he won't post pictures of us? I have told him that I wish he would, and he says it's because he's a private person and doesn't want to post them. But if that was the case, why did he post pics with his ex? That makes me even more bothered by it.. Any ideas on why he STILL will not post pictures of us, even though I told him it would make me happy?

hes not posting pics of yall because he doesnt want to delete them if u dont work out. hes private meaing he doesnt want his business out there. whether its temporary business or forever. no one wants to flaunt something temporary then u just look dumb on social media. he could be embarassed of you or he ould just be fearful of what might happen to you all after he posts pics. will they be liked? will people think yall look good together? basically posting pics of the gf is always a situation of pressure. so dont add to it!!!! ask him straight up.. ."hey how come you dont post pics of us online? i know you are a private person but how come in the pictures u do choose to post about ur life, they dont ever include me?"

Probably because at 5 months he doesn't wanna exploit you guys just yet or maybe he was public with his last relationship but now chooses to be private

Think about this one is it more important your are in a relationship or more important about trival things like Facbook and Instagram. It seems to me like the priorities are in the wrong place. If you have false expectations of people you will be disappointed most of your life.

We don't have kissy photos on facebook. We are at that 3mth mark.. We did take pics but we both decided which ones were fb appropriate and which weren't. We decided to wait on the more intimate ones. Not to mention he has pics on fb still of him tagged from a former female friend but.. he really doesn't use facebook all that much. So when he gets the chance he will delete those. We know we don't need pics on facebook to validate our relationship together. We are both 24. I think you could always sit down and say.. ok which ones do you think are facebook appropriate and that may make him feel better. Just don't pressure him into it! When it came to uploading pictures we went through and I asked him.. to early to put that up ? Is this one safe and appropriate for facebook?
