server hosting help needed?
I tried to setup a minecraft server for my friends but they can not connect. I forwarded my ports correctly, I allowed the server access through my firewall, the server itself works, and my isp does not block the port and allows the use of non commercial server hosting. Every time they try to connect they get a error message that said connection timed out. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Talk to a local ISP (if you can find one) and do a 'cheap colo'.
Running servers on non-commercial connections is probably a violation of your terms of service. But it sounds like you have check with them on that. Other than that, directly connect (not via a router) to your internet and see if it will work. If it does, your router is probably to blame. Then make sure the router is 'wide open' for the ports you need, and possibly put it in the routers DMZ. Best of luck. Ads |

make sure the firewall is allowing the ports both incoming and outgoing. Also make sure your IP address for your computer has not changed and the public IP hasn't changed.

It sounds like you need a professional web hosting provider.
