Is the Samsung Galaxy S2 worth it?

I've found a really amazing deal for the S2 on eBay and it looks almost new. It looks like a nice phone and pretty good specs and all.
iPhone 5 and the specs seem similar? Anyhow I'm 13 years of age, (almost 14) and I would be getting it for my birthday and I reckon I'd have it for around 2 years.

That's all really, but is it a good phone and good for me? And does the Jelly Bean software act well on it?

It's definitely worth it. Galaxy S2 is one of the best-selling smart phone models ever made. Even the s3 and s4 didn't sell as much as s2 did. I have had mine for over 2 years, and never had a single problem. Never bought a case, dropped it a considerable amount of times, no screen protector either, and it's still 100% functional and operational. Imo it's the best smartphone you can get.

For a 14 year old it's a very good phone. It's the model of phone I currently use purely because none of the newer models appeal to me in the same way the S2 did when I first played with it. Given my previous Samsung phone had me swearing I'd never buy another Samsung and my husband swore he'd never switch from Nokia, the fact that the S2 changed both our stances says a lot for it!

Mine works a treat and I am not gentle with it, if you are just playing facebook type games it's fine but some of the newer games are geared towards HD screens and the S2 is a bit on the small side for those games although it does handle the games fine. Cases are starting to get harder to find for it as it is an older model of phone. It's nice and loud so you'll hear it in the bottom of your school bag.

The S2 is a terrific phone. There are some models of the S2 that freeze up a lot, for some reason, but as long as it's not gonna do that. Really a spectacular camera, lots of storage, the jelly bean operating system is excellent... good phone!
