Why cant i download instagram on my Xperia P?

I Uprgarded my contract yesyerday to the latest xperia handset, the xperia p. once everything had updated on my phone, i chose some choice apps to download, one of which was instagram. However, when i try to download the app, my pone says "your device is not compatible with this version". But my phone is the latest xperia model and has been fully updated to the latest android. And has an 8 mega pixel camera. Is there any reason why my ohone cant have instagram? Or is there a way to sort this problem?

did u download it through Google play store? perhaps it's because ur phone's still new so that it didn't added as one if supported devices. as the caused, it said that ur phone wasn't compatible. but it doesn't mean that ur phone really isn't compatible since many low specs devices can run instagram well. if I'm not mistaken urs is a middle-high specs phone among Android(among Android it's in middle range since most of the high end devices are dual core above 1,5ghz or quad core processor; urs is dual core 1ghz just like iphone 4s has) which means among general smartphones, ur phone is damn excellent!
Alright back to instagram, the MINIMUM requirement is Opengl 2.0 version while ur phone's is above it; mali gpu known as one of the best gpu now with opengl version is above 2.0, perhaps 3xx. so theoretically, it's absolutely compatible with ur phone. stop download it from google play, just search and download it through web or google it. my phone has far below ur phone's specs but it can run instagram smoothly. just search through web, that's what i did. moreover u can get the apk file which means u can install, uninstall, reinstall again anytime u want.
