I think I just downloaded a virus please help?
http://minecraft.en.softonic.com/mac

This is where I downloaded it. I was told it was minecraft but it wasn't and now my computer is slower and I have some weird search engine I don't like or know how to get rid of. I tried turning my computer off and back on and restarting but its still here.

Your first strategy in cases like this is to perform an immediate System Restore to the restore point that's dated just before the problem occurred.

It is not a virus. they are an official website(I use it daily.) however you clicked next or skip in the instalion wizard. when you clicked next you didn't uncheck the things saying install .... . there fore you now how adware on your pc. try a recent restore to a few days ago. if you cant. go uninstall stuff you know isn't aspoce to be on your computer. go to the search guy in the top left of your mac and search uninstall. and go from there.

Try using Revo Uninstaller Pro to uninstall the toolbars/other programs which were installed on your computer along with Minecraft. After you finish the uninstallation, it'll show you to remove other files/config files related to that program, check them and delete them.
Run an antivirus scan and I'd suggest you to get Avira Internet Security or Avira Free Antivirus for your computer Smile
If you still face any problem then please let me know, I'd be more than happy to help you Smile
