What is the best hosting site for a new website?
I'm planning to start a new company and I would like to know which is the best hosting company for my website. And I'd also like to know if I should buy more than one domain name to get more clients?

Hi Guillermo!

that's a one million dollar question! I have taught marketing and communications at the University of Arizona for the past 27 years and one thing I learned and teach my students: there is no service that can be considered "the best one" suitable for everyone's needs. It would be helpful if you gave us a bit of details as to the purpose of the site. Is it a niche site, site for an offline business, personal website? What kind of customers are you planning to attract? How are you going to market the product on your site? Is speed a major concern? etc.

With the info you gave us, I can just tell you about my experience. I use
http://goo.gl/CNi3z for over 40 personal business websites, with three of these earning a huge amount of cash and upgraded to dedicated servers. As far as customer service, uptime and speed go, you can't find any better in terms of shared hosting for the typical average small business website. They offer the best features at the lowest price in the market. One great feature they have is that they give you $100 google adwords credit which is great to start up a business and test out the waters without having to do much SEO.

The only drawback is that you will have to pay your hosting fees yearly. In other words they don't offer monthly plans. If you're on a very tight budget, http://goo.gl/lwivl may be a better option for you. The price is actually higher and the quality of the service not on a par with Bluehost but they do offer monthly plans that may be suitable for younger entrepreneurs and beginners! Again this is an affiliate link. If you click on it, you can use the code ARIZONASANDERS to get a great discount.

Whether you choose to go with these or other services, I also would like to recommend you to have a look at some of the websites hosted by whoever it is you are considering as your host. Check the host's forums for a list. My favorite free tool for checking out website speed is this: https://www.cloudflare.com/plans They offer a free basic test service. I recommend using the pro for $20 a month once you start making money.

It's always best to check out a host yourself rather than take anyone's word because hosting companies pay fees to their customers for recommending their services. That includes me and in no way is meant to imply anything on anyone who may have already answered or will answer this question in the future.

Lastly, before you choose a host make sure to have chosen the right domain! This is a crucial step towards ensuring success for your business, way more important than choosing the host. Your website has to rank as high as possible in google for people to be able to find it easily. You need specific tools to do this. The top level application, used ethically by many internet marketers is http://goo.gl/6Q4YS . You can use the application for free without buying anything.

Hope this helps and let us know how you are doing!

Hi Guillermo R. I am with BlueHost and find they are very good but there are many similar hosting companies out there. HostGator is fine too but you DON'T get a free domain name with them. The free hosting services are OK if you don't need much functionality but if you are serious about making money online you should take a look at the top paid hosting services.

I found the best hosting companies at the lowest prices, discounts and coupons all here. They all offer a free domain too except HostGator.

http://www.web-hosting-sites-review.com/

If you go there it gives you all the info you need plus there are a lot of Customer reviews from people who have experience using each one. It's a good place to do your research.

If you want a very low price hosting company with unlimited space and bandwidth with lots of functionality and easy website builder, WebPad are only $1.99 and it looks like they have it all. If you want the best and are willing to pay a little more I would take a strong look at HUB. They come out top for hosting and are $3.99 with the extra discount on that website.

I hope this helps you. Smile

I recommend one of these: http://www.webhostingdiscounts.org/

iPage is on sale right now.

They're one of the oldest web hosting companies, founded 1998, also one of the largest, currently hosting over a million websites.

Their hosting plan includes:
- Free domain name (.com, .net, .org)
- Unlimited storage and bandwidth
- Unlimited email addresses per domain name

They also include a couple of ways for you to build your website easily without any programming.

You can use their free, point & click, online site builder so you can create a website without any programming (easily, just by drag and drop).

You could install Wordpress. It is the most popular CMS (content management system) (they include an easy, one click install of Wordpress from their control panel), choose a theme that you like, and start adding content.

They also have a great custom control panel with OneClick installs of all the popular software like Wordpress, Joomla, Forums, Chat, Galleries, Online stores and a lot more.

I've had great success with Dreamhost. They say the host over 700,000 Wordpress sites, and their support has always been top-notch. I found a coupon code a while back that should still work: SWEET_ACTION. It'll save you on a yearly signup and includes a free domain registration.

If you're planning to start a company online you'll need a superior web hosting provider including e-commerce. We have encountered many hosts during the years and none of them passed the test of reliability, specifically the companies that are ranking in the top. So it's better to skip those who are easy to find in the search engines and dig deeper. Now we are a member of Linux Hosts Ltd. we are finally successful online. Visit them and read how others think about this excellent provider.

There are plenty out there that would fit your needs.

I personally use http://shop.domaindash.co with my clients. Their prices are competitive and they offer monthly plans on their hosting and web builder packages. They literally have everything you need to get started with your online presence.

When you purchase your domain name, I would suggest purchasing different TLDs. For example you buy yourdomainname.com purchase the .net, .org, .info etc to protect your brand. Also, if your domain name can be misspelled or misinterpreted, I would recommend purchasing this as well and have all the alternatives forwarded to your main domain name.

Best of luck.
