How to monitor internet connection?
My cable internet has been going down occasionally and I want to pinpoint the exact times when it does. Does anyone have any ideas about how to log my internet connection when it is connected and when it is not? Are there any programs that monitor and log internet connectivity?

Well there are two ways that I know of that let you monitor your internet connection, but it's only real-time, meaning you have to be there and you can't log it. One method is to press Ctrl+Alt+Del and go to the networking tab, this shows you both wireless (if you have one) and Local Area (wired). The other method is to open a Command Prompt (Start>All Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt) and typing netstat and then pressing enter. This shows you any internet activity going through your computer.
I'm sure there are other programs that work better, but these are the only two methods I know of. |
