Maybe you are not describing all the details about this issue. You can get Rescue Root from some download site, like CNET. But actually what they provide you is the DOWNLOADER/INSTALLER of Rescue Root. When you run this DOWNLOADER/INSTALLER it connects to hompege and tries to download and install the main application. If you actually have a wifi connection, so you do have a functional internet connection, the message you get (sorry, there was an error with your installation. please check internet connection and try again) is typical when outward connection is blocked by a firewall. So, somehow a Firewall is blocking the outward access of KBM2 Installer or some other process of the download
First of all you should check if you are dowloading form a legitimate downloader. I used http://rescueroot.com/download
Check your Firewalls setup and try to figure out how it is blocking your connection. Also it is possible, if the wifi network is not yours, that the router has an inbuilt Firewall (a router firewall) which blocks the outward connection and the download. In this case you should communicat with network operator and explain this case.
