Why does my internet stop working only on laptop?
The source of the internet is through an ethernet cable connected to my laptop. Sometimes the internet will stop responding on the laptop but the wifi my laptop gives off by using connectify to my phone still works fine on the phone. I checked different browsers, there's no difference. Only restarting helps.

It's a windows 8 toshiba.
Josh, I don't think that's the problem because then my laptops wifi signal would also not work.

This happens when connectify is on, and my phone connects to it automatically.
Well the thing is Connectify was always on when my laptop was on. But, I uninstalled it and it still happens at least once a day.
They're up to date but I don't think it matters because the signal is through an ethernet cable.

Maybe there is something heavy sitting on the cable, maybe the cable is damaged? Why not try a different cable and see if that makes any difference.

By your response, it seems that Connectify is causing the problem.
It works well when Connectify is disabled/turned off, right?

Start off by uninstalling & re-installing Connectify. (Make sure you download the latest version)
Let us know how that works..

Does this happen when Connectify is disabled/turned off?
Or when nobody is connected to the internet via your connection?
We need to see if it's Connectify that is creating the problem..

Try updating your computers wireless drivers. You can download them from the manufacturers website?
