My WiFi disconnects and reconnects frequently, I've tried everything, please help!?
My WiFi disconnects around every 15-20 minutes or so. It will only disconnect for about 15 seconds and then it will automatically reconnect. I am on an ACERV5 Laptop running Windows 8. I have tried restoring the computer completely, I have tried troubleshooting and repairing, and I have tried turning off my Antivirus. I have noticed that it usually decides to disconnect when I open a new process or send a message via social networking. Any help would be appreciated, thank-you. Sad

Unplug the electric from your router for a bit. That resets things. If it still keeps doing it ... you might need a new router.

it usually disconnects when the signal is poor.So first step is to make sure the signal is at least two bars. The next step is to install the latest driver(you can find it on the official acer website under support section). If these tips don't work then it's probably a compatibility issue between your router and the laptop and you are left with a single solution which is buying a new wireless network card( I recommend usb wireless network card because it's really cheap).

Does this happen everywhere or just at home? If everywhere then there is a problem with the laptop, could be as simple as some bad drivers.

If only at home then it is a problem with your modem/router, as someone else said unplugging it for a minute or so fixes 90% of your problems. Restoring it to factory settings gets you another 5%, but that can have consequences. Contact your ISP if you determine it is not your laptop and can't solve it yourself.
