Is this an interesting plot for a YA novel?
I had an idea for a superhero-ish novel, but I don't know if it's good or not:

In a world where superheroes aren't a big deal, 18 year old Delaney Fox feels that her problems are quite a bit bigger than that. She was just dumped in the worst way possible: her 18-year-old ex boyfriend, Tanner Curtis, cheated on her with a 15-year-old girl named Sarah Graham, who he got pregnant, and Delaney found out via Facebook, where Tanner just changed his relationship status and left Delaney to figure out on her own. After subjecting best friend Alice Diller to countless weekends with tubes of cookie dough and romantic comedies, as well as dating sites that don't seem to work, Delaney tries a dating site for superheroes. She finds Grant Bennett, who has the power to manipulate his own genetics to make him a super soldier of sorts. The two hit it off and fall in love, with Grant under the impression that Delaney is a superhero, and Delaney not having the heart to tell him that she's not. Then, a group of people around their age start using the Leidenfrost Effect, which says that cold water poured onto a hot surface would vaporize the surface, to rob banks and kill people for insurance money. Grant asks Delaney to help him, using the superintelligence she claims to have on her dating site profile. When Delaney finds out that Tanner Curtis is the one leading the ring of robberies, she further convinces Grant of her powers... But puts herself in danger of being discovered w

It's very complex in a sense that a lot is happening and they shouldnt.

the whole pregnancy thing is good, but its not really fit for this novel. and the whole grant being a "super soldier" with his power and all is just like... what????

its complicated and you need to work it out more, and simplify it!

hope I helped!

okay, now...

the premise is cool, with the superpowers will certainly add a lot of variety to the situations
and make things very interesting

BUT the plot has a pretty cliche type of romance that is a major turn off for, a lot of people, like A LOT, including me no offense

Think bold - no publisher is interested in a single YA novel - they want a series. So imagine your superhero boy with a "pretend superhero" girlfriend as a basis for a series of adventures. Delaney and Grant are your main characters - all the rest of your folks are back-story. You will add more characters in the rest of your series including parents/relatives etc. The key secret of your YA series is that Delaney has to hide her lack of superhuman powers from Grant so the relationship can continue.

How does she do this? Well one idea is that Delaney Fox is way more intelligent than Grant and uses her brains to convince Grant that her "super-human" actions are the result of hidden powers and not just because she's smarter than him.

Fix the teeny bopper drama, and you might have a decent story on your hands. Also "manipulate his own genetics"... Umm, what?
