How do I get rid of the ads on the Chrome internet browser?
Whenever my family and I are on the internet though Google Chrome, we get ads everywhere. On the bottom of the page and on the right mainly, but sometimes on the left or on the top of the screen as well. My brother installed an Adblock web app, but that doesn't seem to work. We also get random blue wording on most every site that when you hover over it, it takes you to a pop-up that wants to do this or that. Lastly, whenever you click on a legitimate link (say you're going to an ABC News article from Facebook or you click on the games tab on Nintendo's website, etc.) it opens a new tab that is a pop-up. How do I get rid of these (free please, if possible.)?

Most likely your computer has been infected with one or more browser hijacker(s).
Try scanning it with AdwCleaner first and then Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
Download them both from the mirrors on MajorGeeks's website:

Finally scan your PC with SUPERAntiSpyware to see if there are any potentially unwanted programs or spyware left on your computer: http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html

You must do two things:
1.In the Chrome browser,go to Settings. Then in Privacy, open Content Settings.Scroll down to Pop-ups and click on 'Don't allow any sites to show pop-ups' and then click Done.
2.After that,go to Extentions and click on 'Get more extentions'.Type in Adblock Plus and install it.

This should take care of it but if it doesn't,then you have malware and you'll have to get help with it.

Hi, you can try this way. 1) click Start> Control Panel> Programs and Features> search for the related malware and uninstall it 2) clear the browser history 3) search for related files on C drive and remove all of them.
Or you can try to do system restore, but you will lose some system data.
