Problem with Wireless adapter? please help!!?
I have a powerlink Speedy2 USB adapter and it is constantly changing my connection speed , the signal strength is excellent (always 4,5 bars) but It slows down myy connection when it changes to 1.0, 2, 5.5, 6, 9 ,12, 18 24 36 48 and 54 mbps, there are no options to manage the connection speed (data rate) I have another adapter it is a netgear the problem with it is its poor range (I don't have a home network and im usuing someone else internet) but I do get 54mbps and it stays like that always, how can make this adapter stay at 54mbps?? please help!

First, you do realise you just publicly declared your illegal use of another person's wifi? Unless you have both their and the ISP's consent it is considered theft of service and carries up to 5 years in prison PER connection. It is highly likely both problems are due to a conflicting local router or access point using the same channel. Often you would not eve see the other one if it is further from you than the one you connect to. And absolutely nothing you can do about it if you are not using your own router. And be more careful what you declare on sites monitored by every police and government agency.

Do you mean you're using someone's Internet with the owner's consent? If you are, only and only the owner can change the bandwidth sharing to make your connection good. Let him/her know of this.
Thanks! |
