Can anybody help me with a really annoying skype problem?

I have skype on my pc and on iphone, and when someone sends you a message you get that 'noise' to tell you, someone has sent you a message, well, my boyfriend is away at the moment and when he sends me a message either on my phone or pc, i do not get anything to tell me that he has sent me a message and i am getting really annoyed that im am missing his messages, i have taken to checking my phone all the time to double check and that in itself is annoying. The thing is, if other people message me, i get the noise and everything, it just seems to be him
Anybody help me please?

Reset sounds to default and re-install skype. Also check the sounds settings and do a preview on the "Recieve IM" sound and it will work.
