Ideas for what to try next?

I have entered into a 50km walk for charity with a friend and we are trying to drum up support. I even created a facebook page and we will be helping an author who raises money for this particular charity as well. Any ideas for how I can gain some more support as I haven't really had a lot of response yet. I have exhausted the facebook avenue on my part for now.

Ask local radio, tv, cable, newspapers, bloggers to give you a spot or space for promotion but you may need permission from the charity for some of these unless you have been officially authorized to represent them.. Ask the author about lending her name for any request, too.

Wearing a tshirt or arm band advertising the event, handing out fliers, and calling friends and family asking them to commit to asking 2 other people can widen your support are a few ideas. Ask any club, church or organization that you attend for support. If you aren't involved in other volunteer activities you may now realize the advantage of this. It widens your networking for all of your causes and interests.
