Why wont my computer connect to my Wi-Fi without being plugged in through the ethernet cable?
I recently got new internet and all you do is plug it into a power point (Not a phoneline) and the wifi comes on. It works for all of my devices (Phone,Laptop,iPod) except my computer, It only works when the ethernet cable is connected to it. When the ethernet cable is not connected the internet shows up on my computer with 1 out of 5 bars of connection and when I try to connect it says unable to connect.

Is there anyway to connect my computer to my wifi without the ethernet cable?

your wifi signal might not be strong enough try moving either the router closer to the computer or vise versa

-is the password correct?
-sometimes 1 bar is not enough to connect, move closer to the router
-try updating the drivers for your wireless laptop card.

>goto device manager and under networ adapters u can see wireless network adapter
>disable and enable after 10 seconds and then try connecting to it.
>if still same then goto network connections and disbale/enable wireless connection and see if that helps
>if still doesn't then remove from preferred networks and check, if still not connecting
>u need to update the wireless adapter drivers, google for make and model of adapter and select the correct version for ur OS and update it

hope it helps

How old is yr pc? Is it a DT, LT or Tab. Check all yr wifi is on & receiving a reasonable signal to all devices, & have the correct password/code. If the computer is a little older it may not have in inbuilt wifi, you can buy a wireless 'N' stick to convert, if wifi signal too weak you can also got a wifi range extender. Good luck

Does you PC have a wi-fi card (wireless LAN card) fitted?
Why do you need Wi-Fi on a PC? Its not portable.
Data cable transfers data faster than Wi-Fi,
I have both fitted to my PC but only use the cable connection.
