Wireless Internet Connection Problems?
Okay, I have a Compaq laptop and it has an HP wireless adapter. I have no modem, no router, nothing. My connection comes straight from the air. I am usually connected to the linksys wireless internet, but my connection consistently drops.... why? and some days it will work PERFECT, but some days I have to roam around my house to find a damn signal (excuse my language I'm really frustrated.) Can anyone help me to why my computer does this? I really need DSL but my dad is to cheap to get it. Thanks in advance

Well your connection to someone elses internet connection(which is illegal, can face jail time for it)

They may have noticed you using it and dropped your connection. It may also use a mixed signal which your card may not be able to handle. You may also just be on the boundry of the routers limits and any sort of interference is reducing the signal beyond your reach

You are connecting 1 of 2 ways. Either Ad-hoc or a Hot Spot. Either way, it is not a consistent connection. It is an unsecure signal from a neighbor possibly. If their router/modem is turned off, you may have a harder time connecting.
To have a constant signal you'll need to sign up with a wireless provider or else your connection will never be reliable.
