Is it too early to add her on facebook?
This girl in school, i like her and i know for a fact she likes me. I say this because she is open to dating. I added her on fb but she didnt accept or reject. I know she may have forgotten about it or whatever but is it possible she is not comfortable enough to be friends on fb? I'll admit i barely know her outside of small talk and so forth so maybe shes guarded right now about her privacy.

I don't think so.... Undo your request and try again....most people don't see the first request but on the second one they accept.

Normally, Facebook is not a big deal at all for guys, its a social networking site used to communicate with friends from really every stage of your life.
For girls, their perceptions on it change for the most part.

I would say, she either just didnt use Facebook long enough to check her requests (I know sometimes when I go on Facebook, id have like 3 - 5 friend requests, something on my news feed or a friend messages me and distracts me, 10 minutes later, I log off and completely forget about the requests), so this is always a possibility.

But at the same time, if you dont think thats the case, as you said, she doesnt know you very well, and, generally speaking, most girls "have their lives" on their accounts, so, not always hesitant to kind of "publicize" that to a new person.
Either way, I would suggest to get to know her a little bit better, maybe when she views you more as a friend, then just "a person in the halls", it would make more sense to try and add her again. Or if your really concerned, once you get to know her a little better, you can ask her to add you on Facebook, or ask her what her Facebook is, and you add her.

But generally speaking I dont think Facebook (or any social media for that matter) really have "unwritten regulations", that stuff your just supposed to know. Your either friends or not friends on Facebook, your either following someone or your not following someone in Twitter, there no real unwritten protocol im aware of.
