I DON'T want to connect FB to my messenger. Link won't close?

I DON'T want to connect facebook to my messenger but I can't close the link to do so. The little x does nothing! How can I close this annoyance? I have instantbird for connecting to FB.
I haven't linked FB in my messenger, I want to get rid of the link where it wants me to link them. There is a CLOSE x but it doesn't work! I want to CLOSE The LINK to connect the two and I haven't connected them yet, because I DON'T WANT TO.

Not everyone wants or NEEDS to link to FB!!
So please read my question before you answer it.
