An error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled. (null)?

When I try to change the setting in the Network and Sharing Center (I'm running Vista) in the sharing tab the check box next "to allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection" when I check it it gives me the message "An error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled. (null)"

I already enable the following services and set them to automatic, but the problem still occurs:

Application Layer Gateway Service
Network Connections
Network Location Awareness (NLA)
Plug And Play
Remote Access Auto Connection Manager
Remote Access Connection Manager
Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
Telephony

What is it that you are trying to do?

ICS is Microsoft's way of letting you share an Internet connection without a router.
Usually you have:
Internet from a modem using a USB or wireless connection and a second computer connected to the Ethernet network adapter.
Do you actually have a second computer connected? is it set to obtain it's IP address automatically.
The error message sounds like the second computer is not being detected.
