How can I get my band heard of?

About a year ago me and my cousin started a band. We've made songs and albums and even movies! But only few people besides friends and family know of us. We have a page on Facebook and Twitter, but only 5 people liked us. So yeah, how could I get my band heard? Also we have a thing on YouTube. One of our song is called Tragedies by Music Maker.

You need to preform at a small venue to gain status. Also, create youtube videos, and post links in the music section of yahoo answers. You can also network with other smaller bands in your town, than a bigger city and than state. Post some of your bands songs on reverbnation.com

perform local gigs and get a good fanbase going before moving on to bigger cities, then your state, then neighboring states
Twitter (start following anyone and everyone that listens to music similar to yours and DM them if they follow back saying to listen to them)
go on Twitter and try to get similar, famous bands to let you open up for them if they're playing near you
Warped Tour has a Battle Of The Bands to get bands to play certain dates
Alternative Press always has a section on new bands they recommend (not sure how you can get in it though; just look up information on it)

It might work, but I don't have many followers myself, although I do know of an unsigned artists page that I could try to get them to support you guys. Just let me know it's the one from yahoo answers or something.
