Giving a craigslist seller my ebay ID? PLEASE HELP?
I am thinking about buying nba tickets from this guy on craigslist. I emailed him and he said,

"These are hard copy tickets so I must send them via UPS overnight as I'm in Huntsville, AL right now. You will receive them in 24 hrs (delivery fees are paid by me).I would like to close this sale through eBay for protection ( I'm new on craigslist ). eBay will send you the purchase confirmation with details how to complete the purchase. Your payment will be insured and fully refundable if the tickets are not genuine. To get things started please send me the following details : your ebay ID , your full name and UPS delivery address."

I have to get these tickets fast, but is it safe to give those last three pieces of information through email? If not, what should I do?

Thanks to everyone who answers!!!

E-Bay ID is for him to set up a private auction to you only. I have done that. But I also have been selling on E-Bay for over 8 years now. You can also have him invoice you thru Paypal. All he needs is an E-Mail address. You then get an invoice thru Paypal and you can pay thru Paypal.

You do not need to furnish him with a real name or address until you accept the auction. Then thru E-Bay, you will be supplying him with your name and address. The reason is that he is requesting your name and address is just because that UPS needs a physical address and NOT a PO Box.

Absolute Scam! Received the exact same Email - verbatim - from a man by the name of Timothy D. Kirkham from E & Y - Human Resource Dept. trying to unload ridiculously priced Sold Out Justin Timberlake tickets. Phone # (256) 715-4744. Email address tkirkham2011@gmail.com

This guy is for sure running a scam. All of his correspondence looks legit. His ebay email is great! It's really really good. However, in the end, he asks for Western Union wire transfer which ebay NEVER does.
