What do I do with terrible internet problems?

What do I do with terrible internet problems?
I have AT&T internet, I don't think it's U-verse because we don't have them for tv or phone. I recently moved to a place where we can't get Cox anymore, we have to have DSL. I have had like 10 problems with it since I got it like 2 months ago. I have had 3 different modems, a tech guy come out twice, and the last time they came out they buried a whole new cable because they thought the problem was that gophers chewed through it. It worked for a few days, then it went out again. I called, talked to someone on the phone, it worked again for a couple more days. Every time I call they reset something remotely, and it works for a little bit. Most of the time the service light goes red, meaning that there was some sort of malfunction. Currently, it is a solid green, meaning everything is working, but it still doesn't work. The lights that are on are power, 1, wireless, broadband, and service. The ones that are off, and I don't think are normally on, are 2, 3, 4, and WPS. The only one that flickers sometimes is 1.
Can anyone help? It is getting to the point where it is just ridiculous. Thanks for any input.

"Can anyone help?"

Call your ISP. You pay them to fix your connection.

I'd try running the net from a cable for a while to see if the problem persist, because it could be the wifi.
