I just found out a friend committed suicide?

It's the kind of news no one wants to hear, especially when it's the soul of a good person and a wonderful friend. Comparatively, Michael and I were night and day, both in personality and demeanor. To put it bluntly, I've always been a bag of dirt while Michael was always the bright and loving one. To this day, i can't believe he ever spent time with a loser like me, growing up, we were good friends. We didn't know each other particularly well, however, we just…clicked somehow! We spent time in elementary together and then didn't really interact for a number of years. Then we reunited in high school and I was the manager of the football team while he was easily one of its stars.
Michael and I neve interacted much on the internet, we mostly just kept to ourselves, but then about an hour ago, I saw a Facebook status that rocked my world and turned it upside down. I caught a glimpse of an "R.I.P Michael" being posted by one of our mutual friends, when I went to ask Chris what was going on, he told me everything and ever since that moment, I haven't been able to get over that initial shock. This has never happened to me before-I have never lost a friend beyond just losing them as friends. But now, in my college years, I'm being given a taste of what it's like to lose somebody in a permanent way. I myself suffer from depression and it's quite drastic, I just hope I don't become another statistic like Michael.
I love Michael, I consider him my brother, but the only thing that's just as bad as his passing is the disgraceful way in which I was informed. No one had the courtesy to tell me that a dear friend had taken his own life. I feel very insulted and hurt that no one bothered to tell me what had happened to michael, but for now, I want to put my anger aside and just focus on what's important; the life of my friend.

Maybe no one told you cos you hadn't been in touch with him.
I'm sorry though.
For a few months I kept thinking about my 1St boyfriend..he kept drifting in and out of my mind.
I tried to look him up on Facebook..nothing. nowhere.
peoplesearch and and a few other ones showed he was living in the town we both grew up in.
Then...I found an obituary. It doesn't say what happened,of course.
It will be a yr ago he died,in May .
