PS3 won't connect to internet.?

Ok, my ps3 will obtain the ip address but won't connect to the internet. It won't even connect to the internet when I use a Ethernet cord. Threw the Internet Connection Settings I tried both custom and easy method neither work. I'm using my schools(University) wifi. I'm not sure if my ps3 is messed up or Im just not doing something right, can someone help? P.S. I'll answer any additional questions if you think you know what you are talking about.

I know the problem , university and college internet setups are almost always going to block game console connections , you`d have to ask the dorms I T guy or manager and see if they`ll reset the router and set it up to open the ports you need to use psn

your ps3 is fine , it`s the schools router settings that are restricting the connection
