Why isn't my craigslist ad searchable?
I posted my camera for sale on craigslist and it said that I need a confirmation code that it would send me via phone in order to confirm the posting, which I correctly followed through on. I published the ad, and it said "Thank you your ad is now viewable at ______". When I go to my account, the listing shows up as "active". I always use craigslist so I do know what I'm doing. But when I search it manually my posting does not come up at all. Any ideas as far as what's going wrong? I really need to sell this item! Thanks in advance.

This is called "ghosting". A filter caught your ad and won't let it appear. Go to the forums.craigslist.org and look at the Flag and Help pages.
To avoid ghosting, post a clear price in the top line (not $1).
Avoid @@@@LOOOK!!!! in the ad.
Don't use keywords (if your camera is a Nikon, don't add Minolta, Canon, Kodak...)
Don't post huge photos. Use the CL uploader.
Don't post more than one ad every 48 hours.

If you didn't do anything wrong, delete the ad and start over in 48 hours.
