why wont the internet work?

I have a friend over, and we both want to use our internet. problem is, the internet is connected on both of our macbooks but her internet wont work, even though it says it has good connectivity. mine works perfectly normal. help?

She has to change her wireless connection! Click on the wifi picture on the top bar. Now double click on your wifi (I.E NetGear50) (It should be whatever your rotors name is. IF it says you need a password that means your (whoever put up the rotor) made a password for it, you might know the password if not ask somebody in your family that is at home!
