Ratchet & Clank HD Collection?

I recently bought the HD Collection for Ratchet and Clank on PS3, and I noticed on the back of the game it says Broadband Connection required, is this here just because you can play online/use leaderboards/etc... ? Or do I actually need an internet connection to play the 3 ratchet and clank games? If I do I am not going to open the wrapping so I can return the game because I can't get an internet connection on my PS3 because of a problem I have with it

If you have bought it why didnt you just try it out. You will most likely be able to play it offline

The online is just for the Multiplayer and Leaderboards. (Honestly the single player is much better than the Multiplayer for it anyways)
The games don't require internet to play the single player.
