really interested in a career in advertising?

i am a 18 year old high school student who is really interested in a career in advertising and have some questions. Is there anyone with experience in this career that i can talk to and help give me a little bit of guidance.....will really appreciate the help thanks.

The principles of advertising/marketing have not changed, but the delivery methods have. Social Networks ie. Facebook are now high traffic sites.
