If I start wearing hijab (as in, with headscarf) do I have to ask all my friends to take down my FB pictures?
I'm thinking about wearing the hijab. I've just graduated from high school and I feel like it's a good transition time to start wearing one when I start college. I've always dressed modestly (no shorts, shirts with sleeves, not too tight, etc.) but I'm thinking of going all out with the headscarf. I'm not sure yet, but I'm just doing my research this summer. Anyways, If I decide to go through with it, I will definitely take down my pictures from FB without the headscarf, but do I have to message all my friends and make them take down pictures they have with me in them, too? I feel like that's really mean to do... I can untag myself, but some people have sweet sixteen albums / graduation photos / or albums where I'm in almost every picture... I'll untag myself, but is the only way to go through with this to make them take down all the photos?

It boggles the mind why a woman would willingly submit to that kind of bondage in this day and age. And you are considering taking memories away from everyone who cares about you.

Move forward with your own convictions about the meaning to you of the wearing of the hijab, and let your friends' memories of you during your school days remain intact. If you feel it is a better thing to do to take down your own pictures, then do so on your own FB so that you feel you are properly presented there, but let your friends keep the pictures of you that they remember, especially since none of them are otherwise immodest.

It is good to dress modest.

However, Islam is a religion that will damn you to Hell (forever).

Jesus is Lord and Savior. He is the Son of God and died on the cross for your sins.

Turn to Jesus Christ, pray, read the Bible, and obey God.
Then you will have eternal life in Heaven.
Start with the New Testament.

You can ask. You can't MAKE them take down any pictures of you. If you didn't want to be pictured without hijab you shouldn't have gone out in public without. What made you think you could force people to take down pictures you decided after the fact you were dressed "inappropriately" in?

Well, see, people will hate on religious ideas here, but let's entertain the idea of keeping in with your principles.

most people who agree that hijab is mandatory will probably tell you that the point is (since men and women apparently will be jumping on each other at the sight of skin) not to see each other in that position.

Assuming that. you shouldn't have any pictures of yourself in such a position.

You do your part and leave their FB for later on. Maybe they themselves will remove it when you tell them you have removed yours from your profile.
