How long do you need to own a Tinychat room until it stops giving mod status to the first user in the room?

In rooms that have been up for a while, you don't get mod status unless you have been added to the list of mods for the room by the creator. With newer rooms, anyone can get mod if they happen to be the first person in the room.

Is there a time limit on this?
Then how does the room owner do this in the settings? I haven't found anything that will stop giving mod status to the first person who joins the room.

No, there is no time limit. it's upto the Room Owner.
