CAN THE POLICE STILL TRACK DOWN A DELETED INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT?

Well basically, this person tried to impersonate me on instagram. I took screen shots of it and posted the picture onto my instagram and got my friends to report it, and the person deleted the account themself, which is good in a way. But can the police track down a deleted instagram account?? Or is it not worth going through the hassle because they have more important things to do rather than sorting out someones instagram?

The faker took photos from my facebook and instagram and twitter as ive seen more closely and edited and posted them under my NAME and using my captions and talking and acting like me (and posting my snapchat name and making a fake kik of me)!!! Im really freaked out because its like i have a stalker, and i dont know their motive? Someone give me advice, should I just ignore it now or try finding out who they are???
BTW TO MAKE THIS CLEAR, the person didnt humiliate or use my name in a bad way or ruin my reputation or anything like that, they were impersonating me which is still bad i guess

If it's serious The police can connect Instagram to get information like IP address and more. They also need to contact ISP for the ip address...It's possible but technically it's complacate to grap all information. But Your case not much valuable to spend those resource just for 1 case.
If you get 2nd 3rd issue you can move your things to case

The police can track anything (atleast here in the UK). If you feel its threatening you, go talk to the local police station. I assure you, there's nothing more important and less important. They have a branch for cyber crimes, and they'll refer it to them. Idk what they do next, but I'm sure they'll help you out. Good luck mate!
