Internet connection problems?
My wireless connection for my laptop is working, but when i go to use my home pc or my xbox live, the internet connection doesn't connect. Help!!
my 360 says- can't connect to Xbox LIVE. Select Test Connection to troubleshoot, or try recovering your profile....and when i test the connection it says to check the ethernet cable, to see if its connected properly.
and my computer says- no connection to the internet is currently available.
andd, all of this worked before, and i thought the ethernet cable just wasn't working, so i bought a new one and it still didn't work

You should be more specific to get the help you need! what error messages are there? what exactly id the problem in details? Smile

For any desktop computer to be hooked up to wireless service, they should have a wireless card or adapter. They might be cards (PCI Express cards .. which you need to install inside your computer and they have an antenna which comes outside ur PC) ,, or use USB based adapters which you simply plug in any port (yet slightly more expensive). Check linksys, or Tp-Link websites for example to see some examples ..

In either way, if you have any computer which needs to have wireless, you just need to upgrade it with any of the above. Either way, after you install the card/adapter, you should download the associated drivers which came on the CD with it .. else it won't work!

Now, I don't know how your internet connection is delivered to you .. adsl, cable .. either way you have to buy a router to distribute the wireless connection to many devices .. you should plug in an ethernet cable from the source of your internet to the LAN port of your router .. then use the CD which came with your router to configure it for immediate use .. usually it is a straight process if you follow the manual and you need no advanced features. send me an email if you have any trouble .. i couldn't contact u directly btw to offer help!

As for 360, sry i have no idea!

is it 360?

You need a wireless card to connect to wireless regardless if it's a desktop or laptop. You also need a wireless router to work with the wireless card. The router would connect to your cable modem and then each of your computers (including the Wii) would feed off of that router.
also, your router signal might not be strong enough.

make sure you have a wireless card on the desktop.
as for the xbox...
im not sure .
perhaps some routers dont work with xbox

here are some sites that may help:
