My page is for a weekly sports event we run for kids under 18.
we have over 500 - 1000 kids coming in some events and we see new ones each week.

I only started using facebook a couple of months ago and on our page we have under 300 likes, we want to increase this but not sure how we would do this..

As this is a local event, I guess that's how many of the attendees have Facebook accounts or generally care enough to 'like' the page. You won't really get likes from non-related people. Also, what would be the benefit of having more likes...? Be happy with what you have.
