Windows Live ID Question?

Okay, so when I first set up my Xbox Live account I used my Yahoo email address with it, which I assume was turned into my Windows Live ID. Recently I signed into Outlook with my Yahoo email address by accident. What I don't understand is why my Yahoo email could be used on Outlook. Are the two linked? If I deleted my Yahoo email would it affect the Outlook that seems to be associated with it?

Outlook (the program) will use ANY mail ID you got. Has nothing to do with the Outlook.com (which is what Hotmail became)

You have to separate the Email Address from the source (domain) and the app (the program). They are separate things.
