My boyfriend says I shouldn't get an Instagram?

I can get paranoid about his relationships with other girls.
I got an account and looked at his profile. He's not posting anything that is questionable or bad.
But I don't think I can see his comments on other people's photos without actually following him.
Most of the people he follows are girls.
